About this work

This work explores the tension between absence and presence through dramatic chiaroscuro. The light, coming from an invisible source to the left, strikes a rough stone wall, revealing its cracks like so many scars of time. At the center of this theatrical staging, an empty desk and chair become symbols of creative solitude. The striking contrast between the deep shadows and the golden texture of the wall evokes a moment of transition: is it the beginning of inspiration or the trace of a hasty departure?
