Poetry on the imprints of time
SOME LINES
If my wrinkles were erased
Like erasing a pencil mark
Would I still be able to recognize
The one my mother saw born one day?
A small cut of the scalpel
Maybe it makes me even prettier
But I have no desire at all
To look like a mummy.
Is this choice really yours
Or made to please others?
To tell time to get lost?
You're young now!
No judgment on your choice
Everyone is free, it goes without saying.
But for me, each being is unique
Like a melody can be.
It's my story that you're reading
On the lines of my face.
They tell you about my past,
You can guess my age!
I accept seeing all my joys,
My dramas, my pains and my fears,
The story of my well-filled life
Made of joys and worries.
The memories of my childhood?
I note all their importance.
And those of my adolescence?
I wear them with elegance,
Without regrets or looking back.
It's my treasure, dearly buried.
A past partly flourished
With dandelions and orchids.
I want to be unique.
My differences? I'm proud of them!
I'm no longer at an age to be a doll,
And I never was, anyway.
I'm ending here these few lines,
Lines of life, lines of heart,
That I didn't learn by heart.
It's not serious, now I sign.
