About this work

Poetry on the Imprints of Time A FEW LINES If my furrows were erased Like erasing a pencil mark Would I still recognize The one my mother once saw born? A little touch of the scalpel Might make me much prettier But I have no desire at all To resemble a mummy. Is this choice really yours Or made to please one another? To tell time to get lost? You are young now! No judgment on your choice Everyone is free, that goes without saying. But for me, every being is unique Like a melody can be. It’s my story that you read In the lines of my face. They tell you my past, You can well guess my age! I embrace seeing all my joys, My dramas, my sorrows, and my fears, The story of my well-lived life Made of happiness and worries. The memories of my childhood? I note all their importance. And those of my adolescence? I carry them with elegance, Without regrets or looking back. It’s my treasure deeply buried. A past partly in bloom With dandelions and orchids. I want to be singular. My differences? I am proud of them! I no longer have the age to be a doll, Never was, in fact. I end here these few lines, Lines of life, lines of the heart, That I did not learn by heart. It’s not serious, now I sign. JAZZ
